• We believe that we, as humans, do not know everything, are imperfect and susceptible to misinterpretation and mistakes. We believe that God is love, and when we are unsure of a decision we should always err on the side of love. Love is the fulfillment of all things and we strive to communicate this high standard as the underlying aspect of all we do and teach.

“Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.”

    1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT

“I have many more things to say to you, but they are too much for you now. But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will lead you into all truth. He will not speak his own words, but he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is to come.”

    John 16:12-13 NCV

  • We believe the Bible is “God-Breathed” (2 Tim 3:16), that humans were moved by God’s Spirit to write and therefore, we believe the Bible is without error in its message and should always be read redemptively, interpreted humbly, and applied carefully. Everything should be done under the banner of love as we understand love to be the “summary” of the law (Rom 13:10).

“He makes us worthy to be the servants of his new agreement that comes from the Holy Spirit and not from a written Law. After all, the Law brings death, but the Spirit brings life.” 2 Corinthians 3:6 CEV

  • We believe in one God who exists as Creator, Savior, and Spirit (Gal 4:6). We believe that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh (1 Jn 4:2-3) and came to reveal God to humanity (Matt 11:27) and to become the Savior and Redeemer of the world (2 Tim 1:9-10). We believe that when he rose from the dead, Jesus poured his Spirit into his followers and gave us the continued mission of being light in this world (Matt 5:14-15).

“Before the mountains were born and before you created the earth and the world, you are God. You have always been, and you will always be.” Psalm 90:2 NCV

  • Salvation is God’s gracious gift to humanity (Eph 2:8). There is nothing we can do to earn it, but God’s love makes us worthy. We believe that Jesus Christ is the reconciler and draws into union with God. Therefore, salvation belongs to those who place their faith in Jesus. Eternal life begins the moment one commits to Jesus Christ through faith.

“The payment for sin is death. But God gives us the free gift of life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NCV

“He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.” Titus 3:5 NLT

  • We believe that the church is the “body of Christ” on this earth, consisting of all people everywhere who have committed themselves to Christ and accepted his mission to bring light and life to this world. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to all people in all places.

“God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.” Galatians 1:22-23 NLT

  • We believe that Jesus came to show us how to live full, abundant lives (Jn 10:10) and that he provided his Spirit to guide us (Jn 16:12-15). To be called “Christian” means to be “Christ-like” in how we act and interact with the world around us. Living like Christ is no substitution for faith, rather it is the natural outcome of committing oneself to Christ through faith.

“Faith that doesn’t lead us to do good deeds is all alone and dead! Suppose someone disagrees and says, ‘It is possible to have faith without doing kind deeds.’ I would answer, ‘Prove that you have faith without doing kind deeds, and I will prove that I have faith by doing them.’” James 2:17-18 CEV

  • We believe that baptism is a confession of faith and an essential step of the faith journey to grow closer to our God and Savior. We believe that baptism is an individual decision that should be undertaken with reflection and honesty. The choice to be baptized is not simply a momentary decision; it is an expression of the desire to live like Christ in all things.

“For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.” Colossians 2:12 NLT
